Taking advantage of the lower excise for sub-four metres and sub-1.5-litre diesel-engined cars, Skoda has launched the Fabia as a premium hatch right at the top end of the small carmarket.Excellentfit-and-finish, great ride and sharrp steering are some of the many pluses, other than the image. On the downside is a certain lack of agility, a noisy and not-so-refined diesel and that price tag that takes it right into the small saloon segment. A design that seems to take inspiration from the Swift may keep people away.
